The Island tour in Mallorca
This is considered to be the most spectacular excursion in Mallorca, therefore is the most popular one.
The most dramatic and unspoilt part of Mallorca is the mountainous west coast. There are different versions of a similar tour of this area organised by different tour operators. Most include a visit to Sa Calobra and Puerto Soller, with a drive through the mountains by coach, a wonderful boat ride to/from the exclusive Sa Calobra gorge and a ride on the famous wooden carriage Soller train.
Prices of the Island tour excursion in Mallorca:
When you book your tour of the west coast, be sure to check which places are visited and how much free time is given and try to book a tour that includes all the transport: coach, boat, train and tram. There is nothing worse than spending all day rushing and finding that there are extra costs during the tour.
Island tour with Tomas Cook:
The most expensive option (and not the best) is with Thomas Cook. At 74€ all the different modes of transport are included but there is not much free time to discover the places visited as some of the time is wasted with a visit to a leather outlet.
- Their name for this excursion is DISCOVER MALLORCA
Island tour with TUI:
The tour that Tui offers is really a non value for money as at 69,90€ as there is no boat included and no visit to Sa Calobra (one of the highlights). The tour from the north area includes a visit to Lluc Monastery, and then time in Port de Soller and Soller with tram and train. It also includes a stop at a leather factory on the way back.
- Their name for this excursion is WESTERN ENCOUNTER.
Island tour with nofrills-excursions:
By far the best value for money tour is with No Frills Excursions:
You get to Sa Calobra early before the crowds arrive, giving you time and space to enjoy this Mallorcan gem, before taking the boat to Puerto Soller. With No Frills Excursions, the boat on Wednesday and Sunday is an exclusive boat only for guests of No Frills Excursions, so there are always plenty of seats for everyone, making for a much more comfortable passage. There is plenty of free time for lunch in Puerto Soller before taking the tram and the train. This is our favourite of these tours and at 65€ it is the cheapest. Bargain! What’s more, if you book with No Frills Excursions on their website you will get a further 5% discount.
